hello again
Hello all!
It has been quite a bit since I have written on this blog; however, I feel like it needs to make it’s revival. We need to keep a blog for my Summer Abroad, so I will double posting on this blog and the MSU Digs blog. I will have to cut out some information from this blog as my Summer Abroad will contain some sensitive content (NOT NSFW content lol).
For those who are unaware: I am on a Summer Abroad in the mediterranean island country, Cyprus. I am studying anthropology and history here. So far we have worked at an archaeological dig twice and at a museum once. It is very rewarding and very fun. This is what I’m interested in! The students at the trip are all so cool but I don’t feel like I fit in. I feel very annoying and awkward. Although I’m certain if I brought these concerns up with them, they would all assure me of the opposite, even if it wasn’t true. That’s just the nature of these students.
For some life updates: When I was in Munich for the 2 hour layover between Denver and Athens, some German guy swiped on me on tinder. He is very nice and fun to talk to and I hope we can meet in person some day (it won’t be soon as I am poor and I am in Cyprus/Athens until August 4th and then school starts pretty soon after that. And if you see this post, hi Andi! Everyone say hi to Andi. I am also considering quitting my job. I love all my co-workers so much, but this job just ain’t for me to be honest. I want to work as a TA or something. Something that will actually help give me experience and further my career. Also don’t tell my mom but I’m able to drink and smoke in Cyprus. Not that I do it often at all, but it is an option lol.
Since my last post I have watched quite a few movies, but I most likely will not be posting about them, as it has been a while. I feel like I’m slowly getting better at writing/blogging. This post seems to be coming more naturally to me.
Daily Update: Today we went to the museum to work. We did “pottery washing” (which is exactly what it sounds like) and then we toured the museum. They had many cool artifacts. Cypriot history is so cool! I really hope I find something good at the archaeological site. I then went to the market and bought some food and some drinks. Next, I will go to the beach (I’m trying to go Everyday).
Hopefully these daily updates become, well, a daily thing!
